During an attempted robbery, a truck overturned, resulting in the death of a robber.

 

In Mahadevpur, Naogaon, a robbery led to a truck overturning, resulting in the death of a robber named Mizanur Rahman (48). Additionally, two other robbers sustained injuries during the incident.

The accident occurred around 4 AM on Thursday in the Shivpur area of the Naogaon city bypass road.

The deceased, Mizanur Rahman, was the son of the late Ramjan Ali from the village of Horinathpur (also known as Namakathal) in Nawabganj, Dinajpur district. The injured robbers are Rubel Hossain, the son of the late Shahin from South Hossainpur village in Mahadevpur, and Masum, the son of the late Tofazzal Hossain from Garidah village in Shibganj, Bogura district.

Previously, while attempting to flee after committing a robbery in the Enayetpur area of Mahadevpur Upazila, the robbers encountered police resistance, leading to this incident. The injured robbers have been apprehended by the police and sent to Naogaon Sadar Hospital for treatment.

According to police and local sources, during an attempted robbery at a residence in Enayetpur village, the commotion caused by the homeowners alerted the villagers, prompting them to intervene. The robbers then escaped in a truck. 

Upon receiving news of their escape, the Mahadevpur police pursued the robbers, setting up barricades at six locations, including Nohata Mor and Abdul Jalil Park. However, the robbers managed to break through these barricades, and while fleeing, they lost control of their truck in the Shibpur area of the 

Naogaon city bypass, resulting in the vehicle overturning. Three individuals sustained serious injuries in the incident, and during the transport of the injured to Naogaon Sadar Hospital, the truck driver, Mizanur Rahman, succumbed to his injuries.

The officer-in-charge of Mahadevpur Police Station, Shahin Reza, reported that while three robbers were apprehended, the others managed to escape into a rice field. During the transport of the three injured robbers to the hospital, one of them died en route. 

Authorities seized a cow and two stolen goats from the robbers' truck. Given that the robbery occurred in Mahadevpur, he confirmed that a case would be filed at this police station.
