KN Rajanna said that about 48 big politicians of India, including central leaders, have been honey-trapped. Among them are ministers and MPs. After this comment, there has been a lot of uproar in state and national politics. Many have demanded a high-level investigation to verify the truth of the matter. This information has been revealed from a report in the Indian media India Today.
In his speech in the Assembly, KN Rajanna said, ‘To my knowledge, about 48 leaders have been victims of this CD and pen drive (honey trap). This is not limited to just one party. It has happened to many more.’
He also said, ‘Karnataka is called a factory of honey traps. This is a serious allegation. I have information that two ministers in Tumakuru have been honey-trapped.
He said that he will file a written complaint with the Home Minister and demand a full investigation.
He said, “Who is behind this? Who is involved in this? Let everything come out. Let the people know.”
K N Rajanna’s son Rajendra, a legislator, also spoke on the issue. He said that for six months, attempts have been made to honey-trap Indian politicians. The cabinet minister has already made a statement that an investigation should be conducted. I think the Home Minister will investigate this.”
When asked about how ministers and MPs are being honey-trapped, Rajendra said, “They will call on WhatsApp or send a message. This has been happening for six months. We have been trying to track this syndicate for two months. Let the investigation be completed. You will know everything.”
Public Works Minister and Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi said that attempts to honey-trap are nothing new. Some people are using it as a political investment. He said, “Yes, there have been attempts to trap a minister twice before. But those attempts were not successful.”
Satish Jarkiholi further said, “We have asked the minister to file a complaint. Only by filing a complaint will we know why these activities are happening. If they file a complaint, we will find out who is behind it. We will discuss it with the Chief Minister and the Home Minister. This is not limited to our party; it happens in all parties.”
Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said he was not aware of such allegations. He would seek information from the concerned department. He said, “I will seek some information from the department. So far, no one has told us anything. I do not know anything about this. I will know only if the department tells us.”
