Hasina will not be able to return to the country to engage in politics.

Following the directives of Hasina, the military initially refused to intervene against the protesters. Subsequently, the military allowed Hasina to leave Bangladesh through a 'safe passage.' Initially,

the military took control of the country. Later, it facilitated the formation of an interim government through discussions with various parties. In this context, the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, has now claimed a significant role in these events.

He made this assertion during an appearance on BBC's 'Hardtack' program, stating, "I had warned against military involvement in suppressing the student and general public movements. It was after this warning that a change in government occurred."

In July and August of the previous year, there were widespread protests by students in Bangladesh. During this period, the government led by Sheikh Hasina was engaged in severe repression against the student movements.

We (the United Nations) were hopeful about how we could respond to this situation.
