Immediately after the match concluded, Mushfiq and Riyad rushed to see Tamim.

 

Usually, if a player, staff or match official falls ill during a match, the match is postponed. Later, the match is held at a convenient time. However, a strange incident was witnessed in the Dhaka Premier League (DPL) today. Just before the start of the match against Shinepukur, Mohammedan captain Tamim Iqbal suffered a heart attack, but the match was not postponed.

On the one hand, Tamim Iqbal was on the verge of life and death in the hospital, while on the other hand, his Mohammedan teammates had to be busy playing on the field. However, after the match, the Mohammedan players went to see Tamim at the KPJ Specialized Hospital in Savar.

Among the cricketers who went to see Tamim in the hospital were Tamim's two long-time teammates Mahmudullah Riyad and Mushfiqur Rahim. Both of them are now playing for Mohammedan under Tamim's leadership. Mohammedan's coaching and support staff were also with them.

Meanwhile, Tamim Iqbal regained consciousness after a ring was placed on his heart. Tamim will be under close observation by doctors for the next 48 hours.

BCB Chief Physician Debashish Chowdhury, speaking to the media about Tamim's physical condition, said, "Tamim's physical condition has improved considerably so far. Although the authorities keep him under observation for 24 hours, that is the normal rule. The hospital authorities are quite sincere."

"We are very optimistic that we will see a significant improvement within a day," he added.
