Mamata challenged that she would resign from the position of Chief Minister if evidence is provided.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has issued a challenge to BJP legislators while addressing the assembly. During the session on Wednesday, she responded to the allegations made by BJP members.

According to a report by Hindustan Times, Mamata Banerjee spoke out against the BJP legislators' claims of disorder. In retaliation, BJP lawmakers accused her of vandalism during Jyoti Basu's tenure as the leader of the opposition in the state. It was at this moment that Mamata directly challenged them.

Referencing past incidents of vandalism in the assembly, Shankar Ghosh sought a response from the Chief Minister. In a heated exchange, Mamata Banerjee retorted to Ghosh, stating, "I did not break the chair of the assembly. If you can prove it, I will resign from the position of Chief Minister."

This statement sparked a significant uproar in the assembly.
