Omarzai has claimed the title of top all-rounder, captivating the Champions Trophy.

 

Afghanistan has been eliminated from the group stage of the ongoing Champions Trophy. However, they have captured attention by defeating a team like England. In this tournament, Azmatullah Omarzai has stood out with his individual performance, excelling as an all-rounder with both bat and ball. This has positively impacted his ranking, as he has ascended to the top position in the ICC ODI all-rounder rankings for the first time.

Omarzai scored 67 runs off 63 balls against Australia, following a commendable performance against England where he made 41 runs off 31 balls. Additionally, this pace bowling all-rounder has made significant contributions with the ball, taking 5 wickets for 58 runs in the historic victory against England.

In his journey to claim the title of top all-rounder, Omarzai has surpassed his teammate Mohammad Nabi. Currently, Omarzai holds 296 rating points, while Nabi trails him by 4 points.
