Protesters gather at Trump Tower to demand the release of a Palestinian worker.

 

In New York City, activists from 'Jewish Voice for Peace' staged a demonstration demanding the immediate release of Palestinian worker Mahmoud Khalil. On Thursday, March 13, hundreds of participants gathered in the lobby of Trump Tower.

During the protest, chants such as "Free Mahmoud, free them all!" and "We demand justice, how can you be silent? Bring Mahmoud home now!" were heard. Many demonstrators wore red shirts emblazoned with messages like "Not in our name" and "Stop arming Israel."

Mahmoud Khalil, a green card holder and a student at Columbia University, was arrested on March 8 at his university residence. He had assisted in organizing protests on campus over the past year. His legal representatives assert that the Trump administration is involved in his case.
