Putin's support for a ceasefire in the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

 

Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed support for a ceasefire proposal regarding the Russia-Ukraine conflict; however, he has attached certain conditions to it.

The United States has put forth a proposal for a 30-day ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.

During a press conference on Thursday, Putin stated that this ceasefire must lead to the establishment of lasting peace and address the root causes of the conflict.

On that day, Putin engaged in discussions with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko on this matter before attending a press conference at the Kremlin.

Putin remarked that while we agree on the proposal to halt hostilities, we believe that the ceasefire should be structured in a way that can foster long-term peace and effectively resolve the underlying issues of this crisis.
