The potential date for Eid al-Fitr has been announced. It has been revealed whether this year's fasting period will consist of 29 or 30 days.
The Dubai Astronomy Group has announced the potential date for Eid al-Fitr this year. They have provided information on whether the upcoming Ramadan will consist of 29 or 30 days of fasting.
According to the organization, the crescent moon for the month of Shawwal is expected to be sighted in the UAE on March 30, with Eid al-Fitr likely to be celebrated on March 31.
The Dubai Astronomy Center advises the public, stating, "If you see the moon, please report your observation to the local committee or the official moon sighting committee. There is a possibility of sighting the Eid moon on the evening of March 30 in the UAE, which would allow Eid al-Fitr to commence on March 31."
If Eid al-Fitr is indeed celebrated on March 31 in the UAE and other Middle Eastern countries, residents will complete 30 days of fasting this Ramadan.
The holy month of Ramadan began in the Middle East on the evening of February 28.
