Today marks International Women's Day.
In Bangladesh, both government and non-governmental organizations, along with various political parties and labor unions, have organized appropriate programs to commemorate this day.
This year, the theme for International Women's Day is "Rights, Equality, Empowerment for the Development of Women and Girls." On this occasion, Chief Advisor Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus has issued a message.
According to BSS, the Chief Advisor stated in his message that "the women's participation was at the forefront of the mass uprising that took place last July-August, driven by the aspirations for democratic transformation in Bangladesh. Millions of female students have raised their voices against oppression across various campuses."
A vibrant procession organized by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party's Women's Wing will take place at 11 AM.
The procession will commence in front of the BNP central office, proceed to Kareli intersection, and conclude once again in front of the BNP office. The chief guest will be Begum Selina Rahman, a member of the BNP National Standing Committee, while the keynote speaker will be Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, the Senior Joint Secretary General of the BNP.
