The homes of two suspects were destroyed in an explosion in Kashmir.
The houses of two accused in the Pahelgam gun attack that killed 26 people in Kashmir have been destroyed in an explosion. The incident took place in Anantnag district on Thursday (April 24) night.
This information was given by NDTV in a report.
Officials said that an explosion destroyed the houses of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) Adil Hussain Thokar and Asif Sheikh. They were involved in the Pahelgam attack.
They said that the houses were destroyed by an explosive planted inside the houses of the two. It was not immediately known if anyone was injured. Adil Hussain Thokar is one of the main accused in the Pahelgam massacre. Asif Sheikh is also suspected of being involved in the attack conspiracy.
Incidentally, 26 people, including a Nepali national, were killed in an attack by an armed group in Pahelgam, a tourist destination in Indian-administered Kashmir, on Tuesday (April 22). The Indian government has blamed Pakistan for the attack, although Islamabad has strongly denied the claim and called it a "false flag operation".
The day after the attack, India took several steps on Wednesday, including cancelling visas for citizens of its neighbouring country and suspending the Indus Waters Treaty.
Pakistan has also taken some tough measures in response to India's move. Islamabad announced several retaliatory measures on Wednesday, including cancelling visas for Indians, suspending trade with the country, and closing its airspace for Indian flights. The retaliatory measures have sparked renewed tensions between the two countries, which are feared to have escalated into a military conflict.
