Zelensky is complicating the peace agreement with Russia: Trump
US President Donald Trump has rebuked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Trump called Zelensky's comments on Russia's annexation of Crimea 'provocative'.
He said, 'Zelensky's comments will make it more difficult to reach a peace agreement with Russia.'
The British news agency Reuters reported this information on Thursday (April 24) in a report.
On Tuesday, Ukrainian President Zelensky reiterated that Ukraine will not recognize Russia's annexation of Crimea.
He said, 'There is nothing to talk about here. It violates our Constitution.'
Donald Trump called Zelensky's comments 'provocative'. On Wednesday, he wrote on his own social media account Truth Social, 'No one is asking Zelensky to recognize Crimea as Russian territory. If he wants Crimea, why didn’t they fight for it eleven years ago when it was handed over to Russia without a shot being fired?’
Trump slammed the Ukrainian leader, saying he was trying to stop the killing in his country and that they were ‘very close to a deal’ to end the war.
The US president also wrote, ‘Zelensky’s provocative statements make it so much harder to resolve this war. He has nothing to be proud of!’
