Bilateral trade between the United States and Russia has increased.
Bilateral trade between Russia and the United States has increased compared to the previous month. In March, trade between the two countries increased by up to 50 percent compared to the previous month. This information was reported by the Russian news agency RIA Novosti in a report on Thursday.
Citing relevant sources, the news agency said that Moscow's exports of fertilizers and agricultural products to Washington have increased significantly. Due to this, trade between the two countries has increased.
Since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in February 2022, the West has imposed one sanctions after another on the Kremlin. However, the West has not directly imposed sanctions on Moscow's fertilizers and agricultural products. However, exports have been affected due to the sanctions.
RIA Novosti says that in March, US-Russian trade reached its highest level in two years. The two countries traded 573 million US dollars in the month. Which is 50 percent more than last February. After 2023, trade between the two countries reached a record level in March. In March 2023, the two countries imported and exported 622.8 million dollars.
The United States imported $219 million worth of fertilizer from Russia in March. Washington also imported $87.5 million worth of platinum, $5.7 million worth of food products, and $3.7 million worth of lab equipment.
