Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars has released a video, in which captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, Abdullah Shafiq, Zaman Khan and Mohammad Naeem stand together and say, ‘We love our armed forces, we are proud Pakistanis, we are one nation, Pakistan Zindabad.’
Their message came at a time when the Pakistan Army shot down Indian fighter jets and drones that violated its airspace late at night, which tried to attack border towns.

Not only Shaheen, but many other cricketers including Mohammad Haris have given video messages on social media. They have called for national unity and expressed their pride in the army.
The country's veteran batsman and former captain Shoaib Malik also expressed solidarity with the armed forces on Facebook. He said, 'I am proud of my country. My countrymen, my armed forces... We are all united to protect our motherland. We are all one. Long live Pakistan, now and forever.'
Apart from cricket, other sports stars of the country have also joined this initiative. Olympic gold medalist javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem and other athletes have praised the bravery of the army and spread a message of patriotism. Arshad held the Pakistani flag high at the Olympics. He posted a picture of himself holding it and wrote, "Pakistan Zindabad" in the caption.
