India gives details about 'Operation Sindoor'
India has recently given detailed information about the military operation 'Operation Sindoor' against Pakistan. In a press conference that lasted more than an hour on Sunday (May 11) evening, the Indian Army's 'Director General of Military Operations' Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, the Air Force's 'Director General of Air Operations' Air Marshal AK Bharti and the Navy's 'Director General of Naval Operations' Vice Admiral AN Pramod gave these information.
Officers of the three services said that 35 to 40 members of the Pakistani army were killed in this clash. Several military bases inside Pakistan were also damaged. Even the Chaklala base near Islamabad was damaged. The Indian Navy was in a strategic position to strike at any moment in Karachi.
In a joint press conference of the three services, it was said that on the night of May 8 and 9, several drones and aircraft in Pakistan tried to enter Indian airspace. Their target was Indian military bases. Most of them failed. Pakistan tried to attack a vast area from Srinagar to Nalia with drones and unmanned aerial vehicles. But they could not hit the target due to India's air defense system.
The Indian army also said that some Pakistani warplanes were shot down.
It was said in the press conference that India has no fight with the Pakistani army or the people across the border. India's fight is against terrorism. The terrorists who were planned to be killed have been killed. But even after this, Pakistan carried out attacks, due to which India had to respond.
After that attack, Indian soldiers also attacked the Pakistani army base. However, efforts were made to ensure that no civilians were killed. After the Pakistani attack, India also attacked several Pakistani air bases, command centers and other military bases. It also hit the air defense system of Pakistan's Western Front. The military bases that Pakistan attacked include areas adjacent to Islamabad.
Air Marshal Bharti said, "Among the bases we targeted were Chaklala, Rafiki. It is worth noting that Chaklala is located in Islamabad." In addition, military bases in Pakistan's Rahim Yar Khan, Sargodha, Jakobabad and Bholari areas were attacked.
The press conference also said that this operation has given a clear message to Pakistan that aggressive attitude will not be accepted in any way.
The Air Marshal said that India had the ability to completely destroy these bases. But India gave a controlled and measured response.
Similarly, the Indian Navy has been keeping the Pakistani Navy under strategic pressure for the last few days. Vice Admiral AN Pramod said that after the Pahalgam incident, all the departments of the Navy, including submarines and aircraft, were deployed at sea with full readiness for the conflict. Within 96 hours of the terrorist attack, the Navy took a strategic position in the Arabian Sea.
He further said that the forces were deployed in the North Arabian Sea from where the Navy had the ability to strike specific targets including Karachi at any time of its choice. The strategic position of the Indian Navy forced the Pakistani Navy to adopt a defensive stance.
India said that the main military objective of the 'Operation Sindoor' plan was to punish the criminals and planners involved in terrorist activities and destroy their bases.
Lieutenant General Ghai claimed that more than a hundred terrorists were killed in the attacks at nine locations. They include Yusuf Azhar, Abdul Malik Rauf and Mudassar Ahmed. The deceased also included criminals involved in the IC 814 hijacking and the Pulwama attack.
In addition, five members of the Indian Army have been killed in the conflict over the past few days. The officers expressed their condolences for them.
During the question and answer session of the press conference, journalists asked whether any Rafale fighter jet of the Air Force was damaged. However, Air Marshal Bharti did not directly comment on this question.
He said that there is a conflict situation and Rafale is also a part of it. However, the army's aim in this operation was to destroy the terrorist camps and it has been successful. The whole world will see the results.
