India-Pakistan War: Discussion on China's Manufactured Air Defense System

 

India attacked Pakistan on Tuesday midnight. It called it 'Operation Sindoor'. The target was the Pakistan border. After that, the Chinese-made 'HQ-Nine' air defense system came up for discussion. Pakistan bought this technology, modeled after the Russian 'S-300', to modernize its air defense. However, the question of how effective it is in a real war situation is swirling.

After India launched Operation Sindoor on the Pakistan-controlled Kashmir border on Wednesday (May 7) midnight, Islamabad claimed to have shot down several Delhi warplanes. Since then, Pakistan's air defense system has been in discussion.

The 'HQ-Nine' missile system is a type of system that is capable of launching missiles from a transporter erector launcher. A system has six or more tracks. Each truck has four missile containers. Each missile weighs about two tons and is 6.8 meters long.

This defense system is capable of destroying enemy fighter jets, cruise missiles, air-to-surface missiles and small ballistic missiles. The speed of the missiles launched from it can be up to 5,000 kilometers per hour. These missiles can reach a distance of 200 kilometers and an altitude of up to 30 kilometers.

It also has a powerful radar. It is capable of detecting targets from a distance of 120 kilometers. This radar can track about 100 targets simultaneously. It is capable of attacking more than 50 targets at the same time.

Earlier, China took up the work of building this air defense system in the 1980s. This weapon was first unveiled in 2009 at China's 60th annual military parade. This defense system was built in imitation of the US 'Patriot' and Russian 'S-300' systems.

On the other hand, India claims that this defense system made by China has not been of any use to Pakistan. Pakistan is also being trolled by Indians on this issue. It is being said that friendly country China has cheated them.

But what is the truth? After the Indian attack, Pakistan claimed to have shot down three Rafales, a Su-30MKI, a MiG-29 Fulcrum and a drone. So the fog remains over this Chinese-made defense system.
