Information regarding the plane crash involving 210 pilgrims from Mauritania has been revealed.
Mauritanian Airlines has dismissed reports that a plane carrying 210 pilgrims from Mauritania crashed on the Red Sea coast as a hoax.
The sudden news of the plane crash on Tuesday (May 27) sparked concern on social media. However, the airline confirmed that all the pilgrims had arrived safely in Saudi Arabia.
Various reports claimed that a plane carrying pilgrims from Mauritania to Saudi Arabia had crashed on the Red Sea coast. Initial reports claimed that contact with the plane was mysteriously lost while it was heading to the Holy Land for the Hajj pilgrimage.
However, the airline denied the allegations and said that by the grace of God, all the pilgrims had arrived in Saudi Arabia safely and securely. There were no reports of any accidents on any of the flights scheduled for the Hajj season.
They urged the media to refrain from disseminating accurate information and spreading fake news. The company also said it would take legal action against the spread of rumors.
Another media outlet, MASDR News, said the news about the Mauritanian Hajj plane crash was baseless and false. Official sources said the news of the plane crashing on the Red Sea coast was false and the video was fake.
Meanwhile, a video circulating on social media showed panicked passengers screaming from inside the plane and shouting "Allahu Akbar" as the plane fell. However, that video has also been proven to be fake.
