Pakistan and Azerbaijan have reaffirmed their commitment to expand their strategic partnership and explore new investment opportunities in the interests of both countries.
The commitment was reiterated during a bilateral meeting between Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Lachin, Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the two leaders reviewed the overall progress of bilateral relations, including political, economic, defense and cultural cooperation, and expressed satisfaction with the growing momentum of relations in these areas.
Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz said that the two countries have stood by each other in all situations and this solidarity will continue in the future.
The meeting took place on the eve of the Pakistan-Azerbaijan-Turkey trilateral meeting to be held on Azerbaijan’s Independence Day, which added a symbolic dimension to the meeting of the two leaders. Prime Minister Sheikhbaz extended his warm greetings to President Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on this important national day.
He expressed gratitude for Azerbaijan’s unwavering support during the recent Pakistan-India tensions and said that the open solidarity of the Azerbaijani leadership and people in the face of Indian provocations is of deep significance to Pakistan.
Shahbaz said that the people of Azerbaijan have enthusiastically celebrated Pakistan’s success in Marka-e-Haq.
During the meeting, both leaders reviewed the overall aspects of bilateral relations and expressed satisfaction with the positive trend in political, economic, defense and cultural cooperation.
They emphasized on increasing investment in sectors of mutual interest to make the strategic partnership more multidimensional. The Pakistani Prime Minister said that the two countries will stand by each other in the future as in the past.
Azerbaijan has agreed to exchange delegations to promote investment. A delegation-level meeting will be held at the bilateral level in this regard very soon.
Shahbaz Sharif noted that this meeting in Lachin city was a symbolic and emotional moment—a reflection of Azerbaijan’s recovery and determination.
After the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthen the Pakistan-Azerbaijan partnership and continue to work together towards common goals at the bilateral and regional levels.
Also present at the meeting were Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ataullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
