The Rafale fighter jets of India have thwarted Pakistan, claims Khawaja Asif.

 

Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has claimed that Indian Rafale fighter jets were forced to retreat due to Pakistan's electronic jamming technology during the recent border tensions.

Participating in ARY News' popular talk show 'Sawaal Yeh Hai' on Sunday, Khawaja Asif said, "When the Rafale fighter jets entered the airspace of Indian-occupied Kashmir, our defense forces responded quickly. We jammed the radar and communication systems of the aircraft, as a result of which the Indian planes had to turn back."

With this statement, the Pakistani government admitted for the first time that they actively used electronic warfare techniques to counter the Rafale fighter jets.

It is worth noting that the Rafale is the most advanced fighter jet of the Indian Air Force, which was imported from France.

Pakistani security sources claim that the incident took place on the night of April 29 to 30. If the Pakistan Air Force's air defense system had not jammed the communication and radar systems of the Rafale aircraft that night, the Indian planes would have been able to attack Pakistani territory.

Pahelgaon attack and possible conflict

Khwaja Asif also said, ‘Tensions with India still exist. If we had not demanded an impartial investigation into the Pahelgam incident, the international community’s gaze could have been harsher against Pakistan.’

On April 22, 26 people were killed in an attack in Pahelgaon, Kashmir. Islamabad has accused Pakistan of being responsible for the attack without proof. No international proposal to investigate the attack has been accepted by India yet.

Pakistan to approach World Bank on ‘Indus Waters Treaty’

Khwaja Asif also announced that India’s unilateral cancellation of the ‘Indus Waters Treaty’ is a violation of international law. Pakistan will file a formal complaint with the World Bank in a few days.

Indian reaction and media control

After the Pahelgaon attack, India unilaterally announced the cancellation of the Indus Waters Treaty, forced Pakistani citizens to leave the country, and closed the social media accounts of several Pakistani television channels, politicians, and sportspersons.
